07/08/12 ~ The Week Ahead...
Hi Toolbox Fans,
Tonight we'll be going LIVE at 8pm eastern time. This is the first "real" trading week of the second half of 2012. I think now would be a GREAT time to look at the markets with fresh eyes and try and figure out what the second half holds in store for us.
Earnings season kicks off this week and we will get a look at what that brings. I would also keep an eye out for some sector rotation as it is unlikely that the first half leaders will continue and we may see some new stocks emerge in the second half.
Bill has quite a few good charts set up on his blog in the members area and Jeffrey just released the new software for STC members so this week we might get a few intra-day trades on the markets in general.
Quite frankly I am looking forward to it. Let's face it... using savings accounts, CDs and Money Market Accounts are not going to get you where you need to be financially.
You have to get "back in the game".
The first half of 2012 was a little tough for traders given that many "swing trades" did not get the kind of follow through that we all like to get.
Taking some profits off as soon as you get them has been the best strategy so far in 2012. This is just one of the reasons our trade plans come with 3 targets and its an even better reason to trade the picks from our scanners.
There have been some really great picks and trades from the scanners this year and it has been a great environment for "hit-n-run" trading. Tonight we'll talk a bit about the market conditions and how to find the best strategies.
