Dear Toolbox Readers,
Last night we did a fun show where we surfed around a lot of predictions for 2011. Bill, Jeffrey and I also made our own predictions for 2011 and the show is still up on the Toolbox TV site if you want to check it out.
2010 was quite a year and we cruised through some indices and sectors and even looked at the returns for Gold and Silver for 2010 which was quite an eye opener.
We took a lot of predictions and comments from the viewers on what to expect next year and we got a lot of questions about the stats on the stock picks from 2010.
I have always suspected that the low priced picks were the best in term of getting a "home run" trade and the details below and in the data we ran surely proved that.
The low priced picks in the Research Lab are stocks under ten dollars that meet our scan requirements and many of the picks you'll see below fell into the under ten category.
Today's best picks in the low priced list were DARA up more than 15%, BDSI up 12.8% and VISN up 10.4% in just today's session. REE was up 10.5% on the Alpha list and AMCN closed up 9.27% on the momentum list. Not bad for a day when the Dow, S&P and Nasdaq all closed down on light volume.
I always though that it is much easier to sent a 7 dollar stock to ten than it is a 70 dollar stock to 100 and that surely has been the case in 2010.

Now we are over 500 picks that were up more than 9% in just one day!
My guess is that 2011 will once again be a "stock pickers market" and we will be in the Research Lab getting the picks, marking up the charts and doing our best to deliver spectacular gains likes those again next year.
