This was another incredible week in the markets. The DOW closed the week over 11,000 for the first time in months and many are trying to spin it like the economy is on the mend.
Not so fast....
Ben Bernanke gave a speech in Rhode Island yesterday and it was some pretty scary stuff. He explained that the deficits and debt are essentially spiraling out of control and many in congress (while on the campaign trail) are essentially ignoring the problem entirely.
There is every possibility that this will end very badly.
The mortgage mess is growing by the second with Bank of America today announcing a halt to foreclosures in all fifty states and other big banks are halting foreclosures in the 23 states that require a judicial process to foreclose on a property.
We have not heard the end of this by a long shot...
