Hi Toolbox Fans,

This was a rough week in the market. I am not sure what it will take to bring any confidence back into the financial sector, but it will need to be big.

I have been telling people that the recent "bailouts" are un-heard-of in my lifetime. I mean who ever thought that the Treasury dept and the fed would spend their weekends snapping up broke companies?

For all the doom-and-gloom you would think the DOW would be down way more than it is. There are a few bright spots on the DOW30...

WMT ~ WAL MART STORES... Up 31.31% YTD

IBM ~ INTL BUSINESS MACH... Up 10.06% YTD

MCD ~ MCDONALDS CP... Up 8.74% YTD

HD ~ HOME DEPOT INC... Up 6.90% YTD

JNJ ~ JOHNSON AND JOHNS... Up 5.83% YTD

DD ~ DU PONT... Up 5.22% YTD

DIS ~ WALT DISNEY... Up 3.04% YTD

And that's it folks...All other DOW30 stocks are down for the year. 17 of them are down 15% or more with AIG really in the talk down some 79.18%. OUCH!

I think the best place to look for investments right now is in stocks that cater to bad times. Like MCD and WMT. These stocks seem to do fine when people are broke because they are one of the few places left that people can afford to shop.
