So now the first quarter is behind us...
Let's take a look and see how the markets are doing and how we can do better in the second quarter.
As I look through the Research Lab on a YTD basis I see that as expected Silver is leading the way with commodities and the Swiss Franc in currencies, but the big surprise is that Taiwan and Mexico are the countries leading the way with virtually all the other world markets down.
The Dow is down about 7% and the Nasdaq is down about 15%... All the other major indices are somewhere in between. What you may not know is that India took a real beating as did most emerging markets.
As for industry sectors... Alternative Energy got pounded and so did Telecom and Tech. So how can you learn to be on the right side of the trade?
That depends on if you are trading or investing.
Traders need to learn to pick stocks that are on the move and use disciplined systematic trading techniques to capture gains and mitigate losses.
Investor need to step up to buy when there is "blood on the street".
