Hello Everyone, This week we are looking at the broader market to see if we are gathering any momentum. In the table below you'll notice that far fewer stocks are trading above the moving averages when compared to one month ago. You'll also note that the advancers are trailing deciners over all the periods covered. This would make one think the markets have pulled back a bit and if you'll look closely at the data you will see some hope out there. For example... The number of stocks trading above the twenty day was actually up yesterday, as was the stocks above the 50 day.
If we look at the NASDAQ 100 Bullish Percent Index we see a similar pattern.
This is a good time to keep a close eye on thing as we could go either way. My guess would be to look for some earnings warnings in the near future as fuel prices are having an impact that will eventually hit the street. Bill O'Rielly has been spouting off that the "big oil companies" should give back some profits and prop up the poor American consumer. I suppose if you have 50 shares of Exxon Mobile he is talking about you. He could not be more wrong. For one thing letting consumers purchase gasoline at artificially low prices does not address the issues of consumption or conservation. People will continue to gobble up the gallons and you'll lose the free market balance of supply and demand. Price controls by the government will not help the situation at all and eventually will make matters worse. It's pretty simple really. And Now... "Best Of The Web" Red Mountain Research Company This week we want to show you another one of the best, most consistent strategies around. It's Red Mountain Research Company.
